Pavilion Hotel & Social Club
“A playground for Belgrade’s fabulous and nouveau riche”
Every city has an “it” place for those to see and be seen. Belgrade, like New York or London, has a plethora of trendy and established clubs, lounges, restaurants, and cafes.
The social playground in Belgrade is similar to that of other emerging markets, like Istanbul, Bangkok, Almaty, and Shanghai. The growing middle class and nouveau riche are individuals with a palette for fine dining, luxury goods, and experiences. The hardships of poverty and war are a thing of the past, and this new “Golden Age” of business opportunities and wealth has created a demand for exclusive spaces and fine dining.
That “it” place is the Pavilion Hotel & Social Club, quietly hidden in the trendy neighborhood of Dorćol (Dorchol). This boutique hotel is a nestled paradise, with a unique fusion of boho chic decor and contemporary furniture, and a bold red elevator that takes guests to each of the two floors. The restaurant and private lounge is tastefully designed with a plush yet minimalistic touch, complimented by playful plants and mirrors. This space is the perfect size to have intimate lunches, dinners, and parties.
The Pavilion Hotel & Social Club reminds me of the Soho House, a space that can be found in most major cities around the world, that attracts influential and well to do artists, entrepreneurs, and creatives. Belgrade has a handful of historic hotels, including Hotel Moskva and Metropol Palace, that date back decades, while Pavilion is the new kid on the block. Having opened in 2019, it’s putting Belgrade “on the map” of cities that have luxury spaces and offers luxury experiences.
In summary, The Pavilion Hotel & Social Club was truly a fabulous experience and I danced the night away to great music and made new Serbian friends.
