The Innovation Forum Serbia-Switzerland Pioneering Tomorrow: Collaborative Innovation for a Sustainable Future, held at the prestigious Palace of Serbia, was a landmark event dedicated to fostering collaborative innovation for a sustainable future. Bringing together visionary leaders, entrepreneurs, and experts, this summit showcased the strong partnership between Serbia and Switzerland.
Distinguished speakers included H.E. Jelena Begović, Serbia’s Minister of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation; Ambassador Anne Lugon-Moulin of Switzerland; and Ambassador Jacques Ducrest, Head of International Relations at the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research, and Innovation.
The event featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between BIO4 Campus and Novartis, emphasizing collaboration in biotech and healthcare. Discussions across three panels explored critical topics: accelerating startup ecosystems, bridging research to commercialization through intellectual property, and fostering investments for global business scaling. A special session on healthcare innovation, organized by Novartis, highlighted the transformative potential of AI and biotech in modern medicine.

Innovation Forum: Serbia-Switzerland
Pioneering Tomorrow: Collaborative Innovation for a Sustainable Future
Last month, at the UK Western Balkans Commercial Conference, I had the pleasure of meeting the President of the Swiss-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, who introduced me to the Innovation Forum Serbia-Switzerland.
Attending this forum was an incredible opportunity to connect with leaders from the diplomatic and business communities of both countries. The event brought together Swiss and Serbian professionals from sectors such as pharmaceuticals, including Novartis, and representatives from Serbian startups and the growing startup ecosystem.
The forum was not only a showcase of groundbreaking collaboration but also a hub for networking with government officials and business leaders committed to innovation.
The panels covered key areas such as biotech, intellectual property, healthcare advancements, and scaling startups globally. I left the event inspired by the synergies between Switzerland and Serbia, which are paving the way for sustainable innovation and economic growth.
